October 29th - 5 Hours, 4 Birds!

Sorry for the late posting, I accidently saved the post as a draft copy last night!

Today was a fair bit different from yesterday.  We tried and tried to find birds up in the blue but no luck today.  Our highlight of the day was another Northern Goshawk which passed by just out over the shoreline.

Today:
Sharp-shinned Hawk - 2
Northern Goshawk - 1
Merlin - 1
Total - 4

To Date:
Turkey Vulture - 1657
Osprey - 117
Bald Eagle - 102
Northern Harrier - 118
Sharp-shinned Hawk - 1569
Cooper's Hawk - 42
Northern Goshawk - 6
Red-shouldered Hawk - 13
Broad-winged Hawk - 139
Red-tailed Hawk - 517
Rough-legged Hawk - 11
Golden Eagle - 2
American Kestrel - 470
Merlin - 59
Peregrine Falcon - 51
Total - 4873

We now need just 183 birds to reach 50000 Birds Counted.

Today we added 1 Loon to our count.  Three other great sightings were a Field Sparrow, a Snow Bunting which landed on the path in front of us, and also a Glaucous Gull which flew by not too far out over the bluffs heading east.  It was quickly ID'ed by Ron Pittaway and Bruce Falls.

Thanks everyone for another excellent time at the park.
